Microsoft works with Meta to provide immersive VR experiences

Wednesday, October 12 (ANI): In an effort to persuade companies to operate virtually, Microsoft has teamed up with Meta.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated at Meta’s Connect conference this morning that Microsoft teams will interface with Quest products and that Microsoft will offer a mechanism to stream Windows programmes to Meta’s headgear, according to TechCrunch.
According to Nadella, Quest devices will eventually support Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft’s game streaming service.
As Nadella noted, personalised avatars will ultimately be included to the experience. To provide individuals more possibilities to engage with one another, we’re bringing the Microsoft Teams immersive meeting experience to Meta Quest, he said. He noted that Horizon Workrooms, Meta’s virtual reality workspace for collaboration, will integrate with Teams, enabling users to attend a Teams meeting directly from Workrooms.
You can now communicate, have discussions, and work together as if you were physically present, said Nadella.
Microsoft 365 will be integrated with Quest on the Windows side, according to Nadella, allowing users to engage with material from productivity tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
You now have a new method for safely streaming the full Windows experience to your VR device, including all of your customised app content settings, according to Nadella. We’ve been debating how to effectively boost productivity and let you create, communicate, and interact in brand-new ways by bringing the power of Microsoft 365 and Windows 365 to 3D places.
On the Quest, Xbox Cloud Gaming will broadcast games on a 2D VR screen and support the use of current Xbox controllers. But Nadella made a suggestion that more functionality might be added in the future.
