The National Council of Educational Research and Training has taken on a new decision with respect to removing all the references related to the development of a separate sikh nation of Khalistan from the textbooks especially related to the subject of political science in class 12th. The action was taken after a representation was made from the gurdwara committee to the concerned authorities that some books of the political science of class 12th of CBSE have content related to their community which is completely against the truth.

The text of the book misrepresents the resolution which took place at Shri Anandpur Sahib according to the contention of the committee members. This resolution was basically with respect to the demands of this community from a political party and it was made in 1973 but this entire situation did not have anything to do with respect to the creation of a separate state for sikhs. The second demand of the committee members was to provide a status of an official language to Punjabi which is one of the most important languages in Punjab. But all of this incident has been presented in a wrongful manner in the books of CBSE.

According to the contention of the Sikh community the text books of NCERT present this situation in a distorted way. According to the content of the book this entire Resolution was passed in order to convince the entire political parties to enter into their political Manifesto the demand of creating a separate state for sikh people which is completely separated from India like the nation of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The committee has been prepared by NCERT and they have unanimously decided to remove this entire context from the book so that the claim of the committee can be satisfied. It is only with the help of these contentions that the decision finally has been taken and it will be interesting to witness how the new syllabus will be included in the syllabus of the students of the political science who study in class 12th. All the changes will be introduced not only in the textbooks but also at the same point of time they will be uploaded on the website of NCERT. This is one of the most important concept that has to be taken into consideration.

All of the changes will be uploaded on the website and even in the digital books of political science. The Publishers of the supplementary books are also ordered to change the context and do not produce anything of such kind that is of the basic structure of the Constitution according to which secularism is a very essential part. All of these changes will be applicable from next year and this will definitely help the students to study the actual history of the country in the long run. This is going to be helpful over the period of time and will have its own management in the best possible way.
