Apple appears to be working on new MacBook Pros, since new versions have appeared on the Geekbench listing. The website divulges some critical data regarding the future MacBook models. While the site does not directly state that this may be a MacBook Pro, there are various factors that point to it being the same model.
According to the listing, the forthcoming MacBook laptop would use Apple’s unannounced M2 Max chip. It is rumoured to have 96GB of RAM. This implies that the company may offer more than the current 64GB option. Is it, however, the MacBook Pro?
The forthcoming MacBook Pro with Apple M2 Max processor has been identified as Mac14,6 on Geekbench. According to the listing, which was first discovered by ShrimpApplePro (@VNchocoTaco), the unannounced M2 Max CPU features 12 cores, a base clock of 3.54GHz, and 96GB of RAM. In current MacBook models, the M2 Pro has a 10-core CPU. In contrast, the first-generation M1 processor had up to eight graphics cores. The chipset is said to include a 128KB L1 instruction cache, 64KB L1 data cache, and 4MB L2 cache, according to the listing.
Apple just introduced a new MacBook Air with a redesigned look, as well as a 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2/M2 Pro processors. As a result, the corporation is said to be launching a new generation of the MacBook Pro with a high-end processor. Furthermore, Apple is unlikely to include an M2 Max processor in lower-priced MacBook models. So, the MacBook Pro is one of the new models discovered on Geekbench.
Given that last year’s MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch versions had a significant redesign, the 2017 models are unlikely to get significant design changes. Older variants come with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI connector, an SDXC card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. As a result, the new ones are likely to have the same.
The rest of the information is presently unclear. According to rumours, Apple will release two new MacBook Pros next year. One could be 14-inch, while the other could be 16-inch. In 2023, Apple is also expected to release an updated iMac and the Apple silicon Mac Pro, which has been circulating for quite some time.
